What attracted you to Truman?
Within minutes of being on campus for the first time I knew Truman was where I was meant to be. I loved the campus; I thought it was beautiful. Not to mention the education program is one of the best around!

What do you like best about Truman?
My favorite thing about Truman is how easy it is to build solid relationships with my professors. I have never felt like ’just a number’ here. I always have felt welcome and appreciated at Truman. I’m able to develop quality relationships with professors who actually care and want me to succeed. It’s a great feeling.

What do you like most about your classes?
I absolutely love the smaller class sizes. It makes the learning environment much more comfortable. I couldn’t imagine trying to understand Calculus III in a class size of 200. At Truman, the classes have roughly 25-30 which allows much more one-on-one time with the professor.

What do you feel is unique about Truman?
Truman’s Masters of Arts in Education (MAE) program is very unique. Because I am majoring in Mathematics and then getting my masters in Education, I’m able to learn math on a much deeper level than at most schools. Not to mention, every day in class I am able to watch professionals teach the subject that I plan to teach. How awesome is that? I am blessed with 4 years of observing ways math can be taught before I enter the MAE.

What are your plans after graduation?
After graduation I plan to enter into the MAE program. After that, I intend to teach high school mathematics in my home town.

What do you do for fun in Kirksville?
I really enjoy downtown Kirksville. The shops are so cute and I always find little treasures! I love the small town life here. Train Bridge is a really fun and unique experience as well. Not to mention, Pancake City is delicious!
